En internet se encuentran muchas cosas raras; uno es capaz de toparse infinitas curiosidades. Yo hace varios días me topé con un video de http://www.youtube.com muy interesante: una canción de los Beatles cantada por Jim Carrey. Y como buena fanática que soy de Jim Carrey y de los Beatles, la escuché. Que la disfruten.

Rubber Soul

En este álbum se ve un gran paso adelante en el desarrollo artístico de los Beatles, ya que dejaron atrás su sonido original. Todas las canciones del álbum fueron escritas por miembros del grupo y se usaron nuevos instrumentos, como el sitar en Norwegian Wood. También se puede apreciar en él la influencia de otros artistas contemporáneos como Bob Dylan.

El equipo compositor que formaban John y Paul comenzó a explorar otros temas aparte del amor romántico. En particular, las relaciones entre los sexos pasaron de simples canciones de amor chico-chica a descripciones más datalladas e incluso negativas. Norwegian Wood representa un encuentro ambiguo entre el cantante y una chica. La chica de You Won't See Me es descrita como inmadura y obstinadamente se niega a escuchar al cantante. En I'm Looking Through You, la chica no trata bien al cantante. Girl describe a alguien que "habla mal de ti delante de los amigos", y Run For Your Life presenta una vaga amenaza de muerte.

Decidí destacar a este disco por su pecularidad de que fue la etapa con más drogas; lo que hizo posible un cambio de estilo en la música del grupo. Allí experimentaron con nuevos instrumentos, nuevos sonidos, y les dio mayor "libertad de expresión" a los compositores. Es por eso que para muchos de sus fans ese fue su mejor disco.
